[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Influenster and Solo Rugs in exchange for my honest review. As a busy dad with zero interior design skills, I usually leave the aesthetics to my wife. But with this rug, even I can tell it's a winner. First off, it looks amazing. My wife called it a 'statement piece's and I think that means it makes the room look fancy without me having to understand why. It fits perfectly in the spot I picked out. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this rug is the reason we don't step on Legos as much anymore. It's durable and holds up to two cats and two kids. Between the kids spilling juice, my cats treating it like a personal racetrack, and me occasionally dropping some coffee, this rug has survived it all. It resists stains like a champ and is super easy to clean-which is great because I'm not exactly in top of vacuuming. Long story short, if you've got a busy family, pets, and questionable decorating skills like myself, this rug is a lifesaver. It looks great, holds up to the chaos, and makes me feel like I actually contributed to the house looking good. Highly recommend!. Nateo2_2975. Thu Jan 23 2025

Bakhtiari oriental rugs woven before 1950 were examples of tribal rugs, which are traditionally smaller rugs, with wool yarns hand knotted onto a wool foundation. The nomadic lifestyle of these sheep herding tribes, moving their stock from winter to summer pasture, dictated the necessity of smaller and easily movable looms, using the wool from their sheep for the foundation and pile of their rugs. Sometime in the middle of the last century, these nomadic tribes began to settle in various villages in Western Iran. Weaving looms that did not have to be seasonally moved could be larger and sturdier, making the production of larger size rugs possible. The use of cotton for the foundation of the rugs also became more and more common. Baktiari rugs woven today use wool pile knotted on cotton foundations. The Bakhtiari oriental rugs of today are woven in a large number of villages located in an area of Western Iran known as Chahar Mahal. It must be noted the weavers of Bakhtiari oriental rugs are typically not of Bakhtiari tribes, but rather a number of tribes under the rule of Bakhtiaris. The rugs coming from this region are all referred to as Bakhtiari rugs. The rugs produced by these formerly nomadic tribes share common designs, structures, and color palettes.

Antique Heriz Serapi Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, — The brilliant red field bears a central Ray of Life and many highly abstracted geometric shapes in this fascinating antique Heriz Serapi Persian Rug. Five flower blossoms cluster at different points along the mid-line, separated by riyu symbols in the shape of arrows. The patterns are gold color, rust, and green colors. A broad blue border presents scrolled geometric shapes, with jagged ruyi symbols connecting variably multi-colored medallions composed of diamond shapes with irregular outer edges. Three separate, narrow guard borders frame the border, each carrying a geometric pattern. Heriz is a community in Northwestern Iran famed for producing extremely long-lasting carpets and rugs, items that often pass down from one generation to another for many years. These antique rugs possess a coarse, durable consistency. The type of rugs made in Heriz is also sometimes produced in other places, including Bakhshaish and Gorevan. The highest grade of rug from the Heriz area is the Serapi, which was made around the turn of the Twentieth Century. Most Heriz rugs contain prominent knots but the Serapi is described as smoother.

Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and boasting a captivating Arabesque design. This tribal-style rug features a background of medium blue, beautifully complemented by a pistachio border. Crafted with utmost care, the rug consists of high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, ensuring longevity and an excellent feel. The weavers of this magnificent rug are predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, using wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. This region's mountainous terrain yields wool of superior quality, thanks to its longer staple length and naturally oily properties, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is transported to Herat on the western side of Afghanistan, where a meticulous process of hand-carding and hand-spinning transforms it into carpet yarn. The rug is meticulously woven on traditional floor looms, within the weavers' own homes, or as part of the cottage industry. Employing the asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique and featuring a cotton warp and weft, this rug showcases the expertise and dedication of its creators. The double-wefted, heavily packed, depressed warp weaving technique employed ensures exceptional durability, making it one of the sturdiest handwoven carpets available today. This timeless masterpiece adopts centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, with the mesmerizing blue tones derived from natural indigo. The indigofera tinctoria, or true indigo plant, serves as the source of this ancient dye, which has embellished human creations with vibrant blues for thousands of years. The result is a rug that radiates a sense of history and cultural significance. With a remarkable 80 knots per square inch, our rug boasts an impressive 263,333 individually hand-tied knots, showcasing the painstaking craftsmanship and dedication poured into its creation. Measuring 2'10" x 8'2", this one-of-a-kind rug will undoubtedly grace any space with its allure and beauty. Immerse yourself in the elegance and allure of our Afghan Arabesque tribal rug. Its rich heritage, exquisite craftsmanship, and timeless design will undoubtedly make it the focal point of any interior.
