These are lovely stools and I am really pleased with the design and comfort. However, I quickly learned that the lightly oiled finish was insufficient to protect against ordinary kitchen splashes and spills. I did not want to send them back, but to avoid the disappointment of difficult-to-remove stains later I applied two coats of clear matte polyacrylic. For that reason I am dropping one star, but reluctantly, because they are beautiful. They seem sturdily crafted too, though time will tell.. Lesley. Woodbury, CT. Sat Mar 14 2026
