The appearance is what we expected. However the weight and strength of construction seem suspect. Was less sturdy and than we hoped for. Will begin using and see if it is robust enough. Have similar style in our other home but it is more substantial.

These are lovely stools and I am really pleased with the design and comfort. However, I quickly learned that the lightly oiled finish was insufficient to protect against ordinary kitchen splashes and spills. I did not want to send them back, but to avoid the disappointment of difficult-to-remove stains later I applied two coats of clear matte polyacrylic. For that reason I am dropping one star, but reluctantly, because they are beautiful. They seem sturdily crafted too, though time will tell.
