Hubbardton Forge uses a unique dimmer/off/on switch on the two lamps I own. It's a unique and nice feature, above and beyond the usual. I'm a real fan. It's good value. This is a beautiful lamp although it's not the finish I ordered. I ordered brass and received a chrome lamp. However I'm keeping the chrome, it is beautiful and the shade is the most noticed aspect of the lamp. The dimmer switch is by far the best I have ever seen! Just turn the dial from off and the light begins to glow, it works perfectly and so easily in that it is positioned right where you would expect it on this type of lamp. I'm using a 60 watt incandescent bulb and the warm glow it provides is perfect with this lamp and in my room. Finally, the lamp shade is perfect..
