This late 19 century Chinese altar table with everted ends features 4 pairs hand carved clouds spandrels on both front and back. The restoration to this antique table from countryside of Hebei Province is kept to minimum intentionally. The original top showing deep wood lines, cracks and aged natural wood color can only be created by the passing of time. Solid construction, naturally aged wood showing age proper patinas, dents, knots, lines, spots, and wear and tears. A fine example of traditional Chinese joinery: every piece of wood is calculated to interlock in a seamless way to provide structural strength and enhances the beauty of the design. This charming Mission-inspired console table is a beautiful addition to an entryway, in the kitchen, behind a sofa or loveseat, or at the foot of a bed. Expertly crafted from rubberwood solids, manufactured wood products, and birch veneer, it is adorned in a rich Plantation Cherry finish on all sides with slatted side panels. In addition to its good looks, the table features a towel bar on both sides, a display shelf down below, and two storage drawers with recessed antique bronze finished hardware.
