For his first collaboration with Costa Nova, the renowned German designer Carsten Gollnick took inspiration from the aesthetic world of the Portuguese Atlantic coast, and created a distinctive tableware collection in fine stoneware. The Portuguese Atlantic coast's remarkable color contrasts and structures, especially the border between water and land, inspired him to develop a special collection where straight lines, pure shapes, and flowing surfaces meet matte, rough, and sandy structures.

This beautiful platter is much larger and heavier than I anticipated. At 8 pounds and 22.25 inches long it definitely will hold a large turkey for Thanksgiving. It is too big to fit in my standard sized dishwasher, however washing by hand is recommended. It has a glossy finish and reminds me of porcelain.
