Described as goat leather from India and a maximum load of only 220 lbs, this is a split-leather hide that is characteristically thin, not supple, and will be prone to cracking. However, it's a very nice color and the diamond quilt is well done. Leather edges and overlaps are not pinned or tacked, but tucked and glued. If used occasionally (infrequent dining room use) I suspect these will look fine and function for over a decade.
