The background color of this item is light green, like an old fashioned Coca-cola bottle. This is from the color of the glass that is over the butterflies and flowers. It mutes the design colors, but is still quite pretty. I had expected the glass to have less color.

It’s absolutely beautiful very cute as well. I thought it would be a bit bigger but I think with it being small it makes it easier to clean and keep from breaking.

UPDATE: A person responded to our second or third request for the cutting board that did not come with our order. Now the cutting board has arrived, safe and beautiful like other Butterfly Meadow pieces we bought. This glass board is called "large" but we see the measurements as medium which is what we need for our small kitchen.
