Hand-Woven Tan Wool Rugs

Foundational geometric rik-rack lines encapsulate atmospheric tonal hues that are interpreted through a unique sense of color to create a presence in a room without overpowering it. Each colorway evokes the everchanging reflection of light on the ocean, as the colors shift according to season, and time of day. Kilim flatwoven wool rugs, inspired by the hand-knotted fishing nets flung over the sides of boats in the harbors of Barbados, were designed by Kit Kemp, co-owner and Creative Director of Firmdale Hotels, in collaboration with Annie Selke.

Handwoven from wool, it offers a natural texture that feels both luxurious and inviting underfoot. Perfect for adding warmth and elegance to any room, this rug seamlessly complements a variety of interior styles, from classic to contemporary.

What the description does not mention is the lovely deep red and a country blue, (with a slight green tint), that accent the design. I put the runner in the entrance hall where the red highlights tie in with the reds in the library that is open to the hall. The pattern on the rug is graceful and lovely. The curves in the pattern match a curvy, distressed chest with filigree work on the drawers, which is also in the entrance way. The background tan is lighter than what it appears in the pictures. My best choice from Wayfair to date! Rugs are so, so hard to buy from pictures! But this one will keep me buying. (Kinda' like playing golf, you know?). Marie. Whitney, TX. Sat Aug 12 2017
