This vintage 3x6 runner is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this particular piece enjoys an exciting take on checkerboard geometric patterns in vibrant colors. Connoisseurs may see an inspiration from Tulu rugs in sensibility, and admire Müren’s mid-century approach to the style. Though polychromatic, its colorway includes an especially rich burgundy red in the more present hues. It’s an exemplar of the funky, retro works in Müren’s repertoire that was so ahead of his time. Made with handwoven wool originating from Turkey between 1950-1960, this vintage midcentury Kilim runner enjoys the distinction and gentility of a seldom-seen pink colorway, gracefully accented by a play of golden-beige and cream hues lending a complementary sense of depth and gravity to the medallion field design. The pagination of the transitional color combination with the pattern throughout this Kilim presents a very European appeal unique to a distinct array of selections from this period, as is the emphasis of the almost ornate six-pronged medallions while the more traditional motifs dance more whimsically along the border; a unique marriage of grandeur and subtle tribal accents in a very textural, almost abashed look complementing the colorway.

Hand-knotted in Turkey originating between 1950-1960, this vintage mid-century runner joins the mid-century Pasha collection celebrating Turkish icon Zeki Muren with josh's hand-picked favorites from this period. The rippling diamond pattern design in this piece is a unique blend of Turkish and art deco inspirations accented by very bold positive-negative colorway alterations between the juxtaposed lighter beige-brown and green hues to the bolder earth tone and black hues, further accented by muted-but-present pink and red hues leading out to the borderless guard in a graceful but arresting pattern. Mild wear is consistent with age.
