Inspired by an unusual antique Bessarabian rug, Bassar features climbing vines in celery green, Chinese red, and gold, framed by a stylized flower border. Combining ancient Savonnerie dyeing and weaving methods with a loop weave invented by Asmara, this cut and loop pile rug has subtle shade and texture variations reminiscent of the best antique rugs.
