Several months ago I purchased the Venezia Cast Stone Fountain. It took a while for me to remove an older fountain and prepare the site to accommodate my new fountain. Excellent fountain. The whole experience was top notch. The delivery was made without a hitch. Everything packaged on a pallet that was secure and safe. It is very heavy, so a lot of help is needed to move it into position. The fountain comes with everything you need - Pump, hoses, and even a canister of touch up if needed. We did not need the touch up. Very easy to assemble. The instructions are very easy to follow. You will need an out door outlet to plug it in. Just a regular plug is fine. Make sure you have a solid foundation for where the fountain will rest because this fountain is the real deal. It is not a decorative, cheap, plastic knock off. It ended up being perfect for the spot. The finish gives it a patina that resembles a mix of sandstone meets oxidized copper. Pros extremely well made, solid, looks like it belongs in a European Mediterranean town. The pump is the perfect sizestrength to provide a pleasant steady stream. The sound is mesmerizing. There is an easy enough, but concealed opening in the back to allow for pumplight cords without having to do too many acrobatics. The shipping is so well protected it could probably be hurled from a plane and survive. Cons it’s delivered on a pallet and it either has to reach its final location in pieces or the opening has to be large enough where a pallet can fithand fork lift can easily access. The pieces are large and extremely heavy. This is not a 1-2 person operation. Expect some need of helpequipment to install it. The bottom basin is probably about 900-1000lbs. The two upper ones with the back was probably another 700lbs (which has to lifted to fit on top of the basin, which in turn is lifted over three separate pieces comprising the bottom-baselegs. You need to have a very clear and precise idea where it’s going because once it’s set down, it will be very difficult to move. The pump tubing requires a little effort to connect, but doable. Although it took several months to receive this item, it arrived undamaged because it was packed very well. There were a few blemishes in the finish that did not seem to occur during shipping but left the manufacturer that way. Overall quality is quite good. When assembled, some parts were a bit wobbly, requiring shims to balance things. Assembly instructions for this item were nonexistent. Only general care guidelines were given. This fountain looks amazing, but is incredibly heavy and comes in two pieces. You will most certainly need help from strong experienced installation professionals. It would be ideal if Wayfair offered a “white glove” delivery/installation service that could be purchased along with the fountain. While the last mile carrier was fantastic in terms of delivery placement, it would have been awesome to have had professional unboxing and packaging removal, followed by professional installation. One critique I’d have is that the “channels” in each of the basins are not grooved deep enough to allow the water volume to flow over without overflowing the lip of the basin itself (even with the pump turned on its lowest setting) I’m going to attempt to “rout out” the channels with a dremel tool to deepen the grooves. I was quite apprehensive about buying such an expensive and heavy (300 lbs) item for delivery to Canada, as oversized items can be tricky to return. This was extremely well packaged. It was delivered by moving truck on a wooden pallet (as depicted), and we ended up taking NINE BAGS of packing material to the dump. I offer the following tips for assembly 1) Its very heavy. We used three people to lift the basin onto the pedestal, and a fourth person to navigate the power cord so it wouldnt get crushed. 2) The instructions that come with it are quite basic. They tell you to make sure the rubber stopper is secured well in the basin to avoid leaks. I pushed it in by hand, which wasnt enough, as the basin wasnt holding water. I had to disassemble and carefully tap the stopper in with a rubber mallet, taking care to avoid the power cord running through the center. 3) The rubber stopper appears to be one solid piece, which was confusing at first, but it actually has a hairline split in the side which allows you to press the power cable into the middle of the rubber plug. 4) They provided a large roll of black tubing that needs to be cut. The first segment I cut was a little too long, which caused the hose to crimp and impeded water flow. I shortened it considerably, but this made connecting it a little difficult. A second person needs to support the weight while the connection is made. 5) The clear tubing for the top portion (which is smaller in circumference than the black tubing) was missing. Fortunately we had a suitable replacement on hand. There are no interlocking pieces, it is all held together by weightgravity, so it requires a solid foundation. Initially, I was a little put off by the colour of the fountain as it is much more tera cotta (orangebrown) than I thought it would be, but it looks nice now that it is all assembled and running. My aim was to replace our old acrylic fountain that had broken apart over time. Hopefully, this concrete one will last for many years!
