The teak wood is solid and surprised how thick the wood actually is. For assembly the pre-drilled holes and inset nut for the backs of the chairs is terrible. They drilled angled holes for fastening the backs of the chairs but the glued inset nut is glued straight in to the chair and not aligned with the drilled hole. At least one or more of the glued inset nuts stripped out of its glued position with all six of my chairs (yes I followed assembly directions). The screws on the back of the chairs show as well which is terrible. Considered a $2600 table and chairs they should provide pre-drilled holes with simple stainless nuts and bolts then provide teak dowels to plug the holes. Once the chairs are assembled they are nice. However, plan on drilling the back holes out, buy new stainless bolts and teak dowels to fasten the back properly. If you do not want to complete this task "DO NOT" buy this table set. If you ignore this warning and try to use the manufacturers current glued fasteners every chair will be broken or you will being sending it back. Just frustrated that for such an expensive set the way they poorly aligned the seat backs to be bolted to the chair frame is useless.
