These are a departure from more safe designs - a torch sconce or a swoop arm with a linen shade, for instance. The gold ones have a lot of presence and elegance. I placed a pair of these within the full length niches adjacent to the mirror over an antique mantle and am very happy with the look. The ensuing process was a labor of love, as we sought to establish balance in a purposefully asymmetrical fixture and create the illusion of continuity. Transforming the piece from a sculptural base for wax-and-flame candles to an electric fixture, we continued our brand tradition of keeping the bobeches and making the candle sleeves the same finish as the rest of the piece.
