My wife and I really like this lamp and appreciate Wayfair replacing the damaged lamp so quickly. Original Review: The mica on the lamp shade was damaged in several places. The packaging was perfect and the shade was probably damaged before it was packed. Second, the paint which covers the dragonflies on the base looks very good when the base light is off, but looks thin and poorly applied when turned on. Very unique... I spend time staring at it...I am messing around with different types of bulbs. The light creates a spiral spiderlike pattern on the ceiling with two or three red spots that look like eyes. DISCUSTING quality control for 1 lamp with a black shade!!!!! It all started with the shades: I received a single shade WITHOUT the base so I called Wayfair. The SECOND lamp never showed but a second SHADE arrived WITHOUT the base AGAIN !!!! but his shade was damaged. Then after yet another call to WAYFAIR to get a complete lamp the base finally arrived but it was damaged and not assembled correctly plus this shipment was shipped WITHOUT a shade even though the packing slip noted a shade had been shipped. To make matters worse when I requested a replacement lamp base to replace the first damaged base when the second base finally arrrived it ALSO HAD THE SAME DAMAGE and poor ASSEMBLY ( lopsided on the pedistal base and incorrecly inserted crystal cube) as the first lamp base!!!!! NOW I have to call WAYFAIR yet again to get this matter settled...and hopefully receive a third base in excellent condition so I can install this $ 700.00+ lamp for my patient client !. Deborah. These are solid, heavy lamps. The base is wide enough to support the shade---no chance of them tipping over (I was worried about that!). LOVELY design. Beautiful glow with low wattage bulb on one side, bright enough to read with a bigger wattage in the other one. Packaging was OVER THE TOP. My only complaint is that I was under the impression (and this is one of the reasons I purchased these lamps), that they were made in USA...only to find a "made in China" sticker on the bottom of the lamp :( :(. I can't remember ever being more disappointed in a purchase than I was with this lamp. I debated about purchasing it to begin with because although I am in love with the design, it is definitely pricey at over $500. When the lamp arrived, it felt like a joke. The description of the lamp shade refers to "blue ripple glass" and "brown ripple glass." From what I can tell, "ripple glass" is code for either plastic or plexiglass. That would be fine for an $80 lamp, but for $500+ I was expecting something a lot nicer. In addition, the finial that screws on to the top of the shade is mis-threaded. There was NO way to get that sucker on straight. All in all, I felt like I got the cheap knock off version of the lamp pictured.
