Oceanic Iridescent Blue/Green Jeweled nautical shells, surrounded by Blue and Red jewels, highlight an intricate Art Nouveau motif in Amber and Clear Ripple glass, accented with iridescent Amber formed jewels on Bone Beige. +Beautiful lamp. Was looking for a warm light with some character for my home office. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. -For $500 I would expect the sections of this lamp to fit properly and be the same shade of bronze (see photos). I tried unscrewing and reattaching several times but this is how it lines up. Will anyone but me notice--probably not. That doesn't mean it's okay. The team (everybody I have ever talked with at Perigold), has been professional, listens well, and has offered good suggestions. I love the lamp. I love everything about it. Except during shipping one of the shade glass panels was broken. And, the body of the lamp wobbles, which it is not designed to happen. Having said this disappointing news, I have set up the lamp in a corner where hopefully my cleaning crew won’t attempt to move it. This was the third attempt to make it right and I have no confidence in the delivery teams to care for the lamp in transit. The manufacturer packs it so well, I’m surprised that either the shade or the body of the lamp could possibly be damaged. Clearly, based on the care given to pack it so tightly and well to stabilize both parts, the delivery teams must have not treated the boxes with care - or said another way, they either threw the boxes or something else to cause such damage. By the way, after the second lamp was damaged I spoke with the manufacturer about it. The woman I spoke with was horrified and in fact, spoke with the man who puts this lamp together who gave assurances that their QC process is tight and no lamp leaves the manufacturing floor unless all parts are functioning as intended. They went as far as to describe their approach to crafting this beautiful lamp. It makes me sad. Thank you for being a company that cares about the products you offer. I have purchased 4 different lamps through you within the past year or two, and love them all. That this stunning lamp has been mistreated during transit is no reflection on Perigold, and after personally speaking with the manufacturer, this unfortunate situation has no reflection on them.. Lots of problems with this item. Manufacturer listed as “Set of 2” which is incorrect. Received only one lamp shipped in two boxes. Contacted manufacturer who stated they never sell sets of lamps, only individual. Here’s an idea….how about you get the listing correct next time so a potential customer has the proper information. Manufacturer also disclaims color variance in the shade which is normal due to lighting, however, the lower half of the shade is predominately dark purple, which in no way resembles the blue of the listing photos. Glassmaking is an ancient art that tells of centuries-old knowledge, handed down from generation to generation by the love and passion of expert craftsmen who carefully hold a tradition of excellence. True icons of timeless beauty are born when know-how and craftsmanship meet design, to form a perfect synthesis of tradition and innovation. This is the case of the Giogali and Minigiogali collections designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in 1967 for Vistosi, the lighting brand that has brought glass to perfection. The Giogali lamp (Compasso d’Oro mention in 1969) introduced a new concept in the use of glass: a modular lighting system based on a single hand-crafted crystal element (a type of hook) that can be repeated indefinitely to give life to structures that appear like cascades of light. The hook is the basic module that constitutes the entire architecture of the Giogali system (name that derives from the Venetian “giongher”, or the strap used in the countryside to tie the cart to the yoke), Mangiarotti’s modern interpretation of the Venetian chandelier. Long-term research based on the innovation of traditional shapes generated the hook, which thus becomes the constructive element of the chandelier itself. The basic element can be hooked in a series to form crystal chains, which in turn can be combined to create unlimited formal designs, such as chandeliers of any size that become scenographic backdrop of rooms. Following a restyling of the product, Vistosi introduced the Giogali 3D version in 2005: a new type of hook in glass that allows it to be paired to rings in all four directions, so as to form a continuous mesh that allows great installation flexibility.

First, the good things. The base of this lamp is very wide and heavy; you're not gong to be knocking this lamp over easily. And the base, pole, and shade are well constructed. The shade is lovely. and the doube bulbs allow you to easily vary the light level. Now, the bad things. The shade needs to be two inches or so longer; as it is, it doesn't completely cover the bulbs I am using (Sylvana LEDs). And no matterhow hard you tighten it down, the shade wobbles like crazy.
