Its completely my fault for not looking at the spec and installation sheet. I assumed this would be a conventional mounting with a standard fixture box but that is not the case. This light has it's own remodeling "cavity" or "tube" that must be drywalled in place after installation. There's no getting around drywall and paint work with this unit. The other issue I found is that once you make all of your connections, using wire nuts, it is near impossible to get the LED driver box and all of the wiring back into the cavity. The worse issue that I ran into is that there is no way to adjust the light to level it after you get it all installed. The only way is to loosen the mounting screws that mounted it in the drywall and turn the entire assembly. Again my fault, but I found that out after it was already mudded. Last but not least, the cavity or tube is about 4 inches long. I was mounting mine in a thick brick wall. I'm not sure this would mount in a standard stud and drywall wall so look at the dimensions carefully. After its all said and done, its a beautiful light. The price is way too high for such a simple unit, but I guess you pay more for how small the structure is.
