This is an awesome Z-Line hood unit especially at the Wayfair purchase price. The first one I received had a metal rubbing of a fan blade, reached out to Z-line, sent a video explaining the situation. I was advised a new replacement was already on its way, in a blink of an eye. NO fuss at all. Not having an actual island in my kitchen, I installed it above my Bertazonni stove, away from the wall. The placement made the corner look bigger, very airy, and receive many compliments. I have seen many island hoods but this one actually has the controls on both sides of the unit, making it unique. The 4 lights pivot, allowing light to be were most needed. The motor is very powerful, and does the job it's intended to do. I ordered the matching crown molding for a finished professional look. I was very disappointed in this product. I was expecting a WHITE and copper hood. There is NO white on it. You might think the chimney is white at first but that is just the protective plastic layer that peels off. It is stainless steel/silver and copper. The handle was the only place I was expecting stainless steel, but it is the trim piece and the chimney as well. I have white cabinets and was wanting a look like what the pictures show but that is NOT what you will get. It looks nothing like the pictures as all of them show white. The hood looks nice and works great and I love that the controls are located on both sides of the hood. When the hood first arrived I pulled everything out to check for dents and didn’t see any but once we went to install it a long time after there was a dent that can really only be noticed at the right angle. After waiting months to have my kitchen back I didn’t want tot have to take it down and wait for a new one so I’m living with a dented hood. My installer originally thought that this would be more hood than what I needed, having two fans within. One tricky bit, my ceilings are only 8 ft tall so my installer had to size it down, but it comes with plenty of housing to make it work for taller walls. After using if for several months now I can confidently say that it was the perfect choice for both size and power. I cook a lot and my biggest issue was always when I would cook steaks, brown roasts, etc... The whole house would inevitably fill with smoke, wed open windows, turn on fans and my husband would have to man the smoke detectors. Im so grateful to have a vent now blowing OUT of the house. There are several power settings on the fan for small jobs versus the big ones and it works really well. There are also two brightness settings on the lights which is a nice feature. My range hood was installed yesterday. I did a lot of research of this brand and another popular luxury brand. This was the brand that I chose. The installer had been a Chef at one time. We were both impressed how everything was packed. Everything was in tip top shape. Then the installer was aware of quality restaurant equipment. He said this hood and extension impressed him. In fact he plans on purchasing one for himself. Every thing is first class, even the manual is first class. I am so happy that I made the choice to buy the Zline brand.
