The small size was smaller than I had thought. The large was way larger. I should have read the information better but got confused on the site as to what I ordered . First I thought I was ordering a small, medium and a large not 2 small and a large. The sizes ended up being not all that useful to me. I did get a medium as a gift and that was way more usable. We have some cranberry sauce in one, a small amount of potato salad in another and a few mixed veg in a third.The lids are a perfect fit, so no odour can escape; as they are silicon, they are flexible enough to pop on and off very easily with no effort, but they also stay in place.The jars are made of borosilicate glass, so they are virtually unbreakable. You can use them in the microwave, the fridge or the freezer without worrying if they are going to shatter due to temperature shock. We have not heated them in the microwave straight from the freezer, but the description says “no need to wait for the food to thaw out in the refrigerator before heating.”The lids have cat faces on them, which as a cat family appeals to use, and the ears have a practical purpose - little tabs to help remove the lids easily.We will be using these for years.
