We love this cooktop, easy to clean, heats quickly and better safety with young kids in the house. We love the large element which easily fits out large Dutch ovens. Never had an issue with our pans not getting recognized and the wifi and Chef Connect feature syncs flawlessly with our GE OTR lights and fan. This is a nice feature you normally only find in higher end brands. Overall love the performance! The only negative: The "Precission Cooking" is pretty useless, unless you have a bluetooth probe or niche smart pans which no longer support an app, this feature is useless so don't buy this cooktop if this is something you really want. For standalone temperature control, get a Bosch

I rarely write reviews, but I'm extremely disappointed with this GE cooktop. After only three months of ownership, it has already broken. A major kitchen appliance is supposed to last for years, not a few months. I spent my hard-earned money expecting quality and reliability, and instead I'm dealing with the stress and inconvenience of a product failure almost immediately after installation. What makes it even more frustrating is that everything seemed fine at first. I trusted the GE brand and expected much better. Having a brand-new appliance fail this quickly has completely shaken my confidence in the product. I wish I had chosen something else.

This is my 3rd GE induction cooktop, same model. First one installed lasted maybe 2 months, was still under warranty, and GE service was very helpful to replace. Second lasted about 3 years, luckily had a home warranty service, but took them 6 months to repair and finally replace. It just turned on and off within 5 seconds. They tried to replace mother board control panel, then the complete glass top, but connectors had been upgraded, and didn’t fit. I have been careful cooking with it, works solidly. Controls are easy to use. Only use full power when boiling liquids, otherwise 1/2 power is best for using oils, for frying I may use up to 3/4th full power. I did notice the latest model doesn’t seem as hot as my previous cooktop. I do love induction cooking, super responsive, easy clean, unlike electric glass cooktops which stain, and can see burner areas. I wish I could change lights to different color, my husband is colorblind and has hard time with these controls. PS fingertips and control area need to be clean/dry for controls to react.

Good product. I like the "clean" and unbusy look of it. The controls are not as responsive to my finger as I'd like sometimes, but I'm happy with the purchase. A big factor in my purchase was that this model has a good repair record.
