Beautiful

Every 2 - 3 months the unit went dead in the middle of the night. Had to flip breaker to get display to light up. Over time electricians ruled out anything but the appliance itself and software updates were ruled out. Turns out it was a known issue and control module was replaced. About 3 months after that (right around the 1 year mark), another episode occurred. This time power remained on, but the display was simply a blue screen with no menu. Only way to get it to work was to reboot through turning breaker on and off again. This is not acceptable, especially at this price point. I am not nursing a poor design or QA issue. I want an appliance that works. Who do I have to talk to in order to GET WHAT I PAID FOR??????????

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was looking for a convection microwave oven that fit in our 30" base microwave cabinet that didn't require cutting the entire face of the cabinet. The CSB913P2NS1 oven is the same size as its 27" counterpart but with the 30" face. Installation was a breeze. We did also look at the GE made F&P unit but that was 220v and the GE Cafe was 115v and plugs into an ordinary outlet. This was one of the major reasons we chose the GE Cafe unit. The F&P would have required installing a double pull breaker in my electric panel and a new line ran at an additional cost. As for the features, we love the touchscreen display, with the local weather displayed on the optional wallpaper. We've only just began using the oven a few weeks now as we are still in the midst of our kitchen remodel but so far the intelligent touchscreen has been very useful when reheating foods, softening ice cream and cooking using the various surfaces (glass plate, metal pan, wire rack, etc). Fit and finish is beautiful. If we had one wish, we'd love to see GE Cafe offer optional branding rings other than the copper, such as dark bronze, black, stainless, etc just like their handles as I'd change out the copper Cafe Ring to the black stainless to match some other finishes in our kitchen.

It functions 99% of the time as advertised but 1% we have to hard reset it at the breaker to get it to unfreeze. I would never buy it again.

Nice design and convenient, but opening the door down requieres certain height and more reach; it doesn’t have the option for a lateral opening.
