These are solid, heavy lamps. The base is wide enough to support the shade---no chance of them tipping over (I was worried about that!). LOVELY design. My only complaint is that I was under the impression (and this is one of the reasons I purchased these lamps), that they were made in USA...only to find a "made in China" sticker on the bottom of the lamp :( :(. It fits perfectly on our sofa table In the photo that I took, the glass appears to be warm colors, but in real life, the colors appear to be slightly cooler.
