Michael Aram's limited edition sculptures are handmade artistic explorations inspired by objects and ideas that capture Michael's imagination. The Sculptures are individually crafted so that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. The moon gates are inspired by traditional round passageways found in Chinese landscape architecture which act as entry and exit points to the garden. The circular elements are symbolic of the idea of completion, representing and celebrating the cohesiveness of the family, as members pass through the gate to return home. Another interpretation is that, like the moon, the opening is symbolic of the cycle of life, and renewal as the full moon marks wholeness and is suggestive of new beginnings. "I love thinking of these sculptures as a portal into nature. By looking at the moon gate, I am reminded of the delicate balance between man and nature, and my need for connection between my home life and the beauty and abundance of nature."

The Tulip Collection celebrates rebirth as the ground begins to thaw and new life flourishes. Inspired by the feathery petals of the Parrot Tulip, each petal ripples as if the flower is about to take flight. Symbolic of perfect love, these expressive blooms tell a story of life: Passion, grace, and new beginnings. The Tulip Collection features elaborate sculptures in a modern, lyrical way. The white enamel and gold finish reflects the effect of light and shadow that caress each flower as the world begins to wake. I’ve grown up with tulips in my garden since I was a child, and still enjoy the surprise of them as the first sign of spring. The image of their stems forcing through the dirt and eventually bowing under the weight of their heavy-headed blooms is something I find so precious and beautiful.

The fruit has been prized across the globe, across cultures, and across time as a representation of life, rebirth, and renewal as well as fertility and union. I grew up around Pomegranate-from their use as natural dyes on the antique rugs I used to crawl on as a baby to an integral ingredient in the food that I love. When I'm at my home in New Delhi, I wake each morning to the taste of fresh-squeezed Pomegranate juice. The color, the smell, and the delicate flavor all make it feel like a magical elixir to me.

"The Feather Sculpture is inspired by my fantasy of walking through the forest only to discover a large feather in the path. I imagine it glistening, wildly articulated, and full of movement. I love making objects that appear as though they are out of a dream - things you might find in a fantasy garden, or intermingled with actual pieces from nature to create an almost surreal landscape. This feather is a faithful yet exaggerated expression of the real thing."
