In recent years, the food culture has undergone profound changes, there is no longer a single type of local cuisine, but rather a wide variety of food and a mix of traditions. For that reason, Naoto Fukasawa conceived a dinner plate with a simple form, suitable for any kind of food and dish.

Designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1989, this practical salt, pepper, and spice grinder is a vibrant and sculptural object that eloquently expresses all the contemporary essence of his unmistakable style. A charming 'domestic totem' to use and leave out on display on the table or a kitchen shelf, like a small sculpture. Itsumo, which in Japanese means "every day and forever", is the tableware set designed by Naoto Fukasawa. A curved line is the distinguishing feature of the design of this set, created with particular attention to tactile quality so that the objects are pleasing and interesting to touch and caress with even the lightest touch. Itsumo's minimalist design is enhanced with the addition of a decorated version, the result of the designer's collaboration with the ultra-centenarian artist Samiro Yunoki. An invitation to select white and decorated elements to create an entirely personal set.

The product and presented for the first time to the public at the "La Tavola apparecchiata" ("The set table") exhibition at the WW's exhibition space in Neustifgasse 32 in Vienna, this cutlery was produced by hand in silver and silver plate until 1910-12. Valerio Sommella, born in 1980 and graduated cum laude from the Politecnico of Milan in 2004, began his design career working with Stefano Giovannoni. In 2007 he moved to Amsterdam where he joined Marcel Wanders' team. Since 2009, when he settled down in Milan and opened his design studio, he has designed products in different fields, from furniture to consumer electronic goods and lighting both for Italian and international clients. He alternates this activity by teaching at some Italian universities and design schools.

Born in La Spezia in 1954, Stefano, as an architect and designer, was taught by Buti at Florence University. In the early 1980s, he founded the King-Kong production group along with Guido Venturini. A technical designer par excellence, he has industrial design in his DNA and a capacity to understand public sentiment like no other designer mentioned in this catalog. His projects began with the Girotondo (1989, designed by Guido Venturini) and the first transparent plastic objects from the Family Follows Fiction series (1993). There is a vast number of his items in the Officina Alessi, Alessi, and A di Alessi catalogs.
