Beautiful piece

Classic understated elegance. This piece was a perfect addition to our home library and beautifully compliments the mahogany bookcases and leather wing chairs. The size is just right for the cozy 12x12 room and the height is very comfortable for a long game of chess. The chess board insert fits our standard size chess pieces nicely. It was very well protected during shipping and arrived in excellent condition. It was easy to attach the legs and drop in the chessboard. This has already become a favorite piece of furniture.

Looks like a stain that has tried to be repaired. Defective top.

Not as great as you would think for the money. The piece with holes for assemble were simply popped out holes, no drill cuts; very poor workmanship; so when putting together pieces went in crookedly. My husband had to preset all the holes. Thank goodness he is a builder or it would have been a cluster if I had to put together. Very disappointed, especially given the enormity of the price for a chess table; the drawers are very shallow; not large enough to hold chess pieces; and the marble inlay does not have any easy/smooth way to flip over
