These stools are much nicer in person than in the photos. The finish and overall look feel more substantial and refined. They’re actually quite comfortable even without the pillows, which surprised me. Since they’re primarily for show and occasional use in our home, I prefer the cleaner look without ties. That said, when we have company staying and the stools get more frequent use, I’ll likely add the pillows for extra comfort. well made, beautiful, comfortable and large enough for most people to use comfortably. I would want a small back pillow possibly? But a small lumbar pillow or soft throw pillow that squashes is very nice against the ladder back, seat is comfortable enough as is, but a soft thin cushion might also be nice. Sandra.
