Introducing the desk Wimbledon, a refined piece from The Met x Eichholtz collection. Inspired by an elegant design for a Louis XVI period–style desk (ca. 1900–14), our interpretation, characterized by four slender baluster-shaped legs and five drawers, is finished in a black waxed finish. Its historical charm seamlessly blends with modern sophistication, offering a timeless and elegant addition to your workspace. Historic provenance: The desk Wimbledon draws inspiration from an exquisite Louis XVI period–style desk (ca. 1900–14) by Mewès and Davis (active London and Paris, from 1900). Characterized by slender baluster-shaped legs and adorned with details, our vision captures the timeless sophistication of the watercolor over graphite drawing in The Met collection. The influence of the original is evident in our desk's ebony finish and intricate detailing, embodying a legacy of refined artisanship.

A robust design inspired by Portuguese furnishings of the 18th century. Furniture from this period tends to be bold, and unique. These pieces often boast elaborately turned legs and energetic carving. A molded rectangular top rests over a folding keyboard drawer flanked by storage drawers. Furniture and upholstery appearances can vary and are not guaranteed due to the inherent variation of all natural materials, including wood color, wood grain, leather, and stone material and finish. Upholstered seat heights may vary up to 1” due to crown variances and foam thickness. Product matches are not guaranteed if ordered at different times.

The desk is better than anticipated and the delivery service was quick and careful. Very pleased.. Cameron. Prosper, TX. Sun Jan 11 2026

Terribly done. Waited weeks for it and upon delivery, it was such a let down. The painting on the desk is so careless and sloppy, no care was put into it at all. And even though they advertise as a glass top, the actual desk was just a painted gloss lacquer. With bubbles sporadically popped up along the surface. There were gold colored foil chips throughout the inlays and overall, very poor craftsmanship and unacceptable painting. It’s painted so poorly it’s like they weren't even trying to be professional..
