Very beautiful table but its hollow and not thick wood

This table looked amazing online but even better in person! It is a beautiful dark wood table that appears well built and durable!

Well, I thought the table was absolutely gorgeous. However, it is not finished properly and I’ve already received several splinters. You also cannot wipe it down with any type of cloth because the cloth gets stuck into the top of the table. I have called Wayfair and reached out and they are helping me to resolve the matter. Very concerning because I have grandchildren I cannot have a table with this type of top.
