Jorgen BEkmark's designs are characterized by a beautiful, calm design language and solid craftsmanship. There is a special harmony in all his furniture, including the Alpharetta, which he designed in 1959 while he was head of design at FDB Furniture. Alpharetta is a great example of how timeless design can be. The design is extremely well-proportioned and just as beautiful and relevant today as back then. In all its functionalist simplicity, the table is full of details. This includes the elegant way it can be assembled and disassembled and the fine curves that can also be seen on BEkmark’s iconic J80 Dining chairs.
