In blackened nickel, they are even more sublime, like a woman wearing a black velvet gown floating through a great estate or a glassy urban high-rise. The dark atmosphere of the orchids against the hammered metal is like the afterglow of a beautiful evening."

The product takes its inspiration from the narrative of Noah's Ark and the survival of man and animals after the great flood. Drawing profoundly from Aram's background as an Armenian American, this piece celebrates the potent story of the ark landing on Mt. Ararat. "There is so much power in the story of Noah's Ark resting on Mount Ararat in historic Armenia. All great monotheistic religions accept the ark as symbolic of mankind's salvation. I wanted to represent it for everyone!"

Every circle detail is meticulously created as individual lost wax cast button details, skillfully applied by hand using a brazing tool to embellish the ring encircling the bowl's edge. The ring is then carefully hand-applied to the bowl's rim, adding a distinctive touch to the overall design.

The Wildflowers collection is a celebration of often overlooked, disregarded, and underappreciated flowers. The inspiration for Wildflower came from the discovery of a set of 19th-century hand-tinted, botanical illustrations which, over time, had faded to muted, dusty tones. Touched by how beautifully each wildflower had been rendered in the antique drawings, Aram took great care to capture and recreate the naturalistic movement and gentle hues in hand-enameled and sculpted metal. Uncultivated by definition, wildflowers, as interpreted by Aram, reflect the ideal of "perfectly imperfect" and capture a sense of carefree innocence in the fleeting joyfulness of nature.

A sheet of steel becomes form and decoration: Joy, like a jewel, a pleasure. The centerpiece is 18/10 stainless steel. The designer has designed a Centerpiece with embossed sides and an uneven, jagged rim. The irregular texture creates a fascinating play of light that enhances the object, invoking the image of master silversmiths' machined surfaces. The large dimensions exalt its formal characteristics and enhance the aesthetic qualities of the metal. Lastly, the glossy finish helps to emphasize the reflective effect of the surface.

Born in Barcelona in 1941 and active mainly as an architect and interior designer, Lluis Clotet has received many awards such as the F.A.D Award for creating the Best Interior Designs for 1965 and 1972, and the Best Building Award for 1979 and 1980. These abilities have enabled him to create many interesting, modern-inspired furnishings and household items that are featured for Alessi. The Port Basket (2001) designed by Lluis Clotet was a development from both the ''Foix Tray'' and ''Sarria Basket'' which had been designed previously in 1994 and 2000. Due to a very large demand for a larger version of the Sarria, the Port Basket was conceived. However, instead of simply replicating his previous design, he chose yet another object of inspiration to achieve this flowing, supple form of 18/10 stainless steel that he is ever famous for. While his inspiration came in a similar vein as that of the Foix Tray (a crumpled paper foil) and the Sarria Basket (a misshapen felt hat), the Port Basket takes its form from a common cheesecloth, making it yet another beautiful piece to accompany the Foix Tray and Sarria Basket.
