Both sculpture and vessel, the Marrone Bowl is carved by hand from a solid block of Toronto marble into a low hourglass profile with deep, sloping sides. Veining runs wild through the stone, dense in one place and sparse in the next, so the surface looks more like weather than material. Modern in outline but geological in surface, it needs no styling around it to look finished. Use it as a dining table centerpiece, a landing place on a kitchen island, or the spot where mail collects in an entry.
