Fossilized ammonite half which reveals the internal chambers lined with calcite crystals. The ammonite has been internally replaced by calcite with small areas showing its original mother-of-pearl iridescent outer shell. This is a complete ammonite sliced and polished to expose the internal cavities now lined with calcite microcrystals. These pieces are from the Late Cretaceous age (about 70 -75 million years). Stock photo shown, you will receive a similar item.

The Sprial Horn Bust is an Art Deco Ibex, which displays the exaggerated grace of mature, circled horns. Ibexes were favorite subjects of both Art Deco and Hollywood Regency sculptors who, simultaneously, valued exotic animals and geometric shapes. Our specimen is sculpted in a faceted, angular, naturalistic style that traces a continuous line from his nose to the tips of both horns. The smooth, impasto surface highlights his very large, dramatically sectioned horns.

The Wreath Sculpture is a golden corona of oak leaves, acorns, and pride. The sculpture depicts a triumphal wreath, which had special meaning in Greek and Etruscan culture. In Greek lore, it conveyed status by the virtues of victory and achievement. The diadem of impasto oak leaves represents the wisdom of Zeus, for whom a grove of oaks was sacred. Wreaths like this would have been awarded to commanders who had just won a major battle. And, who doesn’t need that?

This is a beautiful piece and works well for where I have it placed. I was unaware, based on the photo, that there was an amount of orange on the piece. I selected this piece due to its all gold color. it is very well-made and substantial. The color variation is not very noticeable from a distance but up close it is. From Huanggang Mine, Kèshíkèténg Qí, Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, China. Large specimen of silvery metallic luster arsenopyrite crystals in a subparallel growth formation on gossan matrix with quartz.
