An ancient symbol of strength and nobility, the dragon is one of the most iconic images of China. This beautiful statue cast in resin is part of a tradition of depicting these powerful beings that goes back to ancient times. Serpentine in form, this dragon boldly strides forward, clutching a silver orb. Thought to represent a rare pearl, or perhaps the sun, the dragon's orb is a symbol that is almost as old as the dragon itself. Featuring fine detailing and a silver finish, this beautiful sculpture is a fine way to bring the splendor and mystery of this exotic creature to your home or business.

(Set of 2)
The vermillion bird represents the element fire, the color vermilion red, the southern direction, and summer. The Shan Hai Jing describes the phoenix as being born on Dan Mountain. Also called the Dan Phoenix. The phoenix also refers to one of exceptional talent and was born in a south-facing valley at the South Pole, and symbolizes talent and lofty aspirations. The vermillion bird is said to bring prosperity, progeny, and peace. Vermilion red is also a celebratory color in traditional Asian culture for weddings and new business openings. This piece is an ingenious juxtaposition of detail and sparseness, color and transparency, space and form. The vermillion bird appears like the blazing sun, distant yet near, forever shining, representing our deepest wishes. The nature of glass transports the light and presents a space for imagination to spark. Associated with the four quadrants of the vault of heaven is the Azure dragon of the East, the Vermillion bird of the South, the white tiger of the West, and the black tortoise of the North; in the center is the Qilin (unicorn). Each region corresponds to one of the five elements: Metal (west), wood (east), water (north), fire (south), and earth (center). Moving across the night sky, the stars connect all life to the five elements. When the universe and elements are aligned, harmony ensues.

This design depicts the dragon in natural repose as it winds around to form a taichi and conveys its power. The dragon’s head emerges with a persistent gaze as it safeguards the natural order in a way only it can command. Liuli absorbs and reflects light across varying sculptural depths and polished surfaces to convey the dragon’s internal power. The design as a whole is built upon Daoist philosophy: From taichi, two complementary forces are born; from two complementary forces, four aggregates are born; from four aggregates, eight trigrams are born. This is also symbolic of the dragon - a mythical beast that unites all with the power of the sun under the natural order. In the vast universe, the sun is the source of all life. Mighty Roar captures the moment the mighty tiger leaps into the air. Body in motion, the image is encouragement and motivation to propel oneself upward. Like fire, the amber tiger conveys passion, and diligence, and is ideally placed in a common workspace. This sculpture in the style of contemporary realism, with its ornate sculptural details, captures the ephemerality of existence and solidifies it in Liuli. The free-flowing liuli streams move like traces of time, prolonged yet transient, volatile yet tranquil. May the new year bring a new outlook on our place in nature and time.

Supreme emperor of all mythical creatures, the dragon is depicted here in all its glory. Odyssey Across Heaven and Earth portray a dragon in motion, its sinuous coils twisting over a shining arc which is at once the base of the sculpture and an abstract representation of the sky above and the ground below. The dragon is thus traveling across heaven and earth. Most of the color is concentrated in the dragon's body, which is clearly separated from the polished arc. The slender, upraised tail of this crystal dragon figurine adds an additional element of difficulty to an already exacting design. The power and beauty of the dragon are symbols of strength and faith.

A smooth layering of colors seeps into the artwork here from its focal point - the qilin. The mythical animal has been believed by the Chinese to be the amalgamation of all the divine creatures’ most notable traits. Qualities such as strength, humility, wisdom, and righteousness are all represented in this heavenly balance of characters. This age-old narrative has been reinterpreted over the ages in many art forms and stories, but the prevailing theme conveys the same lesson of righteousness and cosmic balance to be emulated. Here, in “Sun Dance,” the mythical qilin prevails over the heavenly bodies - sun and moon, radiating joy over the world.

The grandest design from 2012, Year of the Dragon, by Loretta H. Yang and our artists at the Liuli studio. This immense sculpture, over half a year in the making, uses tremendously fine detail and underwent over forty percent failure rate when firing in the kiln. Pouring together the efforts of over a dozen artists and laborers, this crystal glass dragon was designed to express might, courage and nobility in a way no other dragon could. Sumptuous golden amber colors are used to amplify light for a resplendent look. Its arms reach out to the heavens and the Earth in a way that speaks, “My power is the sky and ground combined—my strength is unlimited."

Lladró artists portray a coiled dragon, whose fierce stare conveys all the power and strength of this mythological creature. A symbol of power and prosperity in Eastern culture, this magical creature, the bearer of good luck, is the protagonist in this spectacular High Porcelain limited edition. On a technical level, the production process for this sculpture is highly complex, with all the whiskers, claws, crests, scales, and other fragments painted with enamels and metallic lusters in every area.

The Re-Deco concept gives a new life to the classic pieces of the Lladró catalog through a new and striking decorative approach. This charming little mermaid is given a much more contemporary style thanks to the contrast between the matte white porcelain finish and the silver luster that highlights her tail and the flowers in her hair.

The beauty of women is enhanced by the imposing force of the feline. With this spectacular creation, the artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop contribute their own vision of a classic theme which has inspired great masterpieces. With a theme based on the Bacchae of Ancient Greece, later recreated by Renaissance and Baroque painters such as Titian, Michelangelo, and Rubens, the temperament and sumptuous decoration of this sculpture remind us of the painting, Bacchante with a panther (1855) by the French painter William Adolphe Bouguereau. The sensuality of this limited edition is accentuated by the semi-nudity of the woman and her very white skin. There is a contrast between this clarity and the decorative richness in the dark tones of her skirt and, above all, with the Panther upon which she is seated. The wealth of finishes, hues, backgrounds, and textures is achieved through the combination of matte porcelain and complex enameling techniques, all applied by hand.

Saint George is the prototype of the medieval knight and one of the most venerated saints of Europe. Artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop have created this spectacular interpretation of his legendary adventure with the dragon in a limited edition which stands out for its dynamism and the technical virtuosity of its execution. The scene shows the hero fighting with a fierce creature in order to free the king´s daughter, who was to be sacrificed to satisfy the demands of the monster. In the decoration of the piece, the richness of enamels stands out, with roughly twenty different tones applied to the dragon and the depth of textures accentuating the modeling and providing it with volume. In contrast, the knight displays more gentle treatment, softened by his light skin and Apollonian features. This contrast is reinforced by the white horse, a symbol of the nobility, bravery, and loyalty necessary to defeat evil.

Dragon auspicious is part of the collection The Spiritual Creatures, inspired by the principles of Feng Shui. According to this ancient philosophy, there are a series of symbolic animals that reflect certain favorable characteristics for a natural space, in particular the tiger, the phoenix, the dragon, the turtle, and the snake. This mythical figurine is related to the movement of water and wind, essential for Feng Shui. The energy is dispersed when it travels through the wind and ends up meeting the water. The decoration of this limited series focuses on an intense range of reds and golds. This creation, of great decorative power, is also ideal as a gift to wish health and happiness to its recipient.

The dragon represents the eastern direction and the color blue; it’s also associated with the element wood, since trees absorb the positive energy of heaven and earth, lending them the dragon-like qualities of strength, majesty, and longevity. The dragon is powerful, dignified, honorable, and embodies an inextinguishable spirit. In this design, the dragon’s scales and claws shift with the casual motion of its elegant form. The head is raised, the body soars into the auspicious clouds; the tail rises upwards with power and poise, and was the most challenging part to cast. Overall, this piece conveys a palpable sense of aspiration and latent energy.

The Black Tortoise is one of the five mythical creatures. It corresponds to the water element, the winter season, the direction north, and the color black. Also referred to as the Dragon Tortoise or the Tortoise Snake, it symbolizes the ancient Chinese god of the North and a water deity. Because of its life length, the tortoise is also a symbol of health and longevity. In this piece Black Tortoise is depicted couched within a sphere representing the universe, surrounded by crashing waves, creating a sense of dynamism and vitality. Purple is the color of the emperor and imperial family, as well as the color of the Emperor Star (Polaris) situated in the northern constellation. The deep purple hue of this piece imbues Black Tortoise with a sense of grace and noble mystery. Associated with the four quadrants of the vault of heaven is the Azure Dragon of the East, the Vermillion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, and the Black Tortoise of the North; in the center is the Qilin (unicorn). Black Tortoise, also known as Black Warrior, is a mythical figure consisting of a turtle entwined by a serpent and is associated with the element water and the northern direction. The tortoise represents longevity and the serpent dexterity; their combination symbolizes harmony, benevolence, sincerity, virtue, and altruism. It is the embodiment of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu’s statement “like water, nourishing all but competing with none”; it is sincere, benevolent, and selfless. One of the highlights of this meticulously crafted piece is the strong sense of interaction between the tortoise and the snake as they ride the waves, with the tortoise looking back toward the snake. The overall effect is that of power tempered by harmony. Associated with the four quadrants of the vault of heaven is the Azure Dragon of the East, the Vermillion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, and the Black Tortoise of the North; in the center is the Qilin (unicorn).
