Lladro
This exclusive high porcelain piece is a limited edition of 500 units. Made in glazed porcelain, the knight’s costume and parts of the horse’s harness are decorated with a newly created bluing luster which manages to emulate the characteristic dark grey metallic color of the chainmail worn by knights at the time. Blue and white tones combined with golden lusters were used for the clothing. Carried out with great attention to detail, the work is composed of 71 fragments taken from 58 different molds. Particularly noteworthy is the sense of movement conveyed by the knight and his steed, thanks to Lladró’s artists’ consummate control of sculptural technique and of the expressive potential of porcelain.

A marine fantasy scene, in which two young mermaids ride in the depths of the sea on a conch shell drawn by two seahorses. The smaller mermaid carries a mandolin and the other an amphora. Highlights are the exquisitely delicate underwater vegetation: the fine corals, the colorful seaweed, ... made with the same technique as porcelain flowers. This is one of the few Lladro pieces whose subject matter requires such work, and on which Lladró artisans have taken such pains to create a masterpiece.

Supreme emperor of all mythical creatures, the dragon is depicted here in all its glory. Odyssey Across Heaven and Earth portray a dragon in motion, its sinuous coils twisting over a shining arc which is at once the base of the sculpture and an abstract representation of the sky above and the ground below. The dragon is thus traveling across heaven and earth. Most of the color is concentrated in the dragon's body, which is clearly separated from the polished arc. The slender, upraised tail of this crystal dragon figurine adds an additional element of difficulty to an already exacting design. The power and beauty of the dragon are symbols of strength and faith.

The phoenix is part of the Spiritual Creatures collection, inspired by the principles of feng shui. These limited-edition sculptures are handmade artistic explorations inspired by objects and ideas that capture the imagination. Each sculpture is individually crafted so that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. "This piece was created from a small sculptural study I did many years ago. The vision of an enormous wing exemplifies a desire to grow and take flight while the idea of an egg suggests new beginnings. It is an image that represents bursting free and spreading your wings. Overall, this represents the idea of progression and energy, and also of our innate power to shape our paths and define our futures". The Flights of Fancy collection is a series of unique objects that celebrate whimsy in daily life. Whether seen individually or among other pieces, they evoke a sense of charm and fantasy. Drawing profoundly from Aram's background as a sculptor, each piece emerges from hand-sculpted clay and offers a child-like quality with an inherent depth of meaning. "There is such power in narrative images for me. The shapes are obvious and immediate and, at the same time, impressionistic and lyrical - the way a small child might imagine the scenes in a story he's being told. I've always been fascinated by objects of ritual. The idea that an object can have such deep, emotional significance to so many people is deeply moving."

This version of The Guest is signed by Kzeng Jiang, the first artist of Chinese origin to join the creative universe of this iconic character. A creative based in Shanghai, his work captures the contemporary culture of the East through vibrant and radical illustrations. Kzeng seeks to capture his cultural roots through the symbolism of traditions such as Chinese face painting or Song dynasty flowers. Elements that he reinterprets under his prism and that in this case are represented, for example, with three large eyes on the face that, according to the author, "allows him to see, past, present and future as if he were a messenger traveling through time". At the chromatic level, Kzeng resorts to blues on white porcelain to achieve visual harmony and balance. Colors that he combines with golden luster strokes to create that sense of prestige that was so typical of ancient Chinese porcelain. The result is a creation that conveys the elegance of porcelain and is an example of the most conceptual and contemporary design.

The grandest design from 2012, Year of the Dragon, by Loretta H. Yang and our artists at the Liuli studio. This immense sculpture, over half a year in the making, uses tremendously fine detail and underwent over forty percent failure rate when firing in the kiln. Pouring together the efforts of over a dozen artists and laborers, this crystal glass dragon was designed to express might, courage and nobility in a way no other dragon could. Sumptuous golden amber colors are used to amplify light for a resplendent look. Its arms reach out to the heavens and the Earth in a way that speaks, “My power is the sky and ground combined—my strength is unlimited."

Winged fantasy is a porcelain sculpture inspired by Greek mythology. The rich jewels and clothing suggest the figure is a goddess. The wings springing from her open arms represent freedom and the movement of dance. The light skin tones are in striking contrast to the colorful clothing. There is an interesting matte finish with high-gloss touches throughout the sculpture and a mother-of-pearl effect on the necklace. On the wings, glazes in several tones, some with a metallic finish, and gold luster contribute to the solemnity inspired by the figure and evoke the plumage of a peacock. Three years in development, it took over 70 man-hours to paint, split among three people. The challenge of this creation was to maintain the balance and pose of the wings and ensure they did not shrink in firing. For contemporary settings, winged fantasy is a limited series, available only to 250 people worldwide, so its value should increase over time. It includes a high porcelain certificate that certifies the authenticity of the piece. The ivory-colored and blue base is an integral part of the piece. Made in Spain.

Finished in white matte porcelain with touches of glaze, golden and silver luster, the piece is decorated with the character’s signature colors. It depicts Princess Leia from Episode IV - A New Hope. Leia is holding the disc with the blueprints for the first Death Star. The piece premiered at the Comic-Con International 2019 in San Diego. Perfect for collectors of fantasy characters and fans of Star Wars. Handcrafted in Spain.

The beauty of women is enhanced by the imposing force of the feline. With this spectacular creation, the artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop contribute their own vision of a classic theme which has inspired great masterpieces. With a theme based on the Bacchae of Ancient Greece, later recreated by Renaissance and Baroque painters such as Titian, Michelangelo, and Rubens, the temperament and sumptuous decoration of this sculpture remind us of the painting, Bacchante with a panther (1855) by the French painter William Adolphe Bouguereau. The sensuality of this limited edition is accentuated by the semi-nudity of the woman and her very white skin. There is a contrast between this clarity and the decorative richness in the dark tones of her skirt and, above all, with the Panther upon which she is seated. The wealth of finishes, hues, backgrounds, and textures is achieved through the combination of matte porcelain and complex enameling techniques, all applied by hand.

Guillaume Grando, known under the artistic name of Supakitch, is the author of the two new The Guest. Supakitch began his career as a graffiti artist in the early 90s and, since then, the fluidity required in the application of graffiti has marked the sinuosity of the strokes of his work. His creative proposals focus on gesture, movement, liquid matter, color, and the reflection of light. Elements that are masterfully captured in the versions of The Guest that he has worked on for Lladro. Porcelain and, in particular, the use of degraded pearl luster, have been ideal for reproducing that water effect to which the reflection of light seems to give movement and depth. A result that is reinforced by the volume of the waves that cover the surface of the pieces.

Like all the pieces in Jaime Hayon's The Fantasy Collection, this creation arises from the fusion of a classic Lladró theme such as love and the playful sense and fantasy that the Spanish creative Jaime Hayon brings to his designs. This imaginative and surprising representation of a lover shows the elegant and casual look that surrounds the entire collection.

Saint George is the prototype of the medieval knight and one of the most venerated saints of Europe. Artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop have created this spectacular interpretation of his legendary adventure with the dragon in a limited edition which stands out for its dynamism and the technical virtuosity of its execution. The scene shows the hero fighting with a fierce creature in order to free the king´s daughter, who was to be sacrificed to satisfy the demands of the monster. In the decoration of the piece, the richness of enamels stands out, with roughly twenty different tones applied to the dragon and the depth of textures accentuating the modeling and providing it with volume. In contrast, the knight displays more gentle treatment, softened by his light skin and Apollonian features. This contrast is reinforced by the white horse, a symbol of the nobility, bravery, and loyalty necessary to defeat evil.

The Guest series includes collaborations with Paul Smith, Devilrobots, Gary Baseman, Rolito, and Jaime Hayon, the creator of this original figurine. In this case, the design was commissioned to the Spanish artist Ricardo Cavolo, with the unmistakable and eclectic style that has attracted major international brands. The piece depicts his wife, represented as a beautiful Armenian queen who transmits strength, light, and energy. It is made in glazed porcelain and decorated with a range of intense, bright colors. Handcrafted in Spain.

The decoration of this limited series focuses on an intense range of reds and golds. This creation, of great decorative power, is also ideal as a gift to wish health and happiness to its recipient.

Like all the pieces in Jaime Hayon's The Fantasy Collection, this creation arises from the fusion of a classic Lladró theme such as love and the playful sense and fantasy that the Spanish creative Jaime Hayon brings to his designs. The dragon represents the eastern direction and the color blue; it’s also associated with the element wood, since trees absorb the positive energy of heaven and earth, lending them the dragon-like qualities of strength, majesty, and longevity. The dragon is powerful, dignified, honorable, and embodies an inextinguishable spirit. In this design, the dragon’s scales and claws shift with the casual motion of its elegant form. The head is raised, the body soars into the auspicious clouds; the tail rises upwards with power and poise, and was the most challenging part to cast. Overall, this piece conveys a palpable sense of aspiration and latent energy. Associated with the four quadrants of the vault of heaven is the Azure Dragon of the East, the Vermillion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, and the Black Tortoise of the North; in the center is the Qilin (unicorn). Each region corresponds to one of the five elements: metal (west), wood (east), water (north), fire (south), and earth (center). Moving across the night sky, the stars connect all life to the five elements. When the universe and elements are aligned, harmony ensues.

Lladro
This impressive porcelain dragon, in a limited edition of 777 units to commemorate Lladro's seven decades, is the latest addition to the Origami collection. The most majestic creature from ancient oriental culture is a universal symbol of power, fortune, and good luck. Natural mineral pigments were used in the decoration, coated with a fine layer of metallic oxide to intensify the predominant red color. This tonality is further enhanced by the contrast of the golden details in the finish of the piece. Like the rest of the pieces in the Origami collection, this is a contemporary, innovative vision of the traditional Japanese art of origami, in which the geometric shapes produced by folding paper are transformed into facets with great sculptural and decorative impact.

Black Tortoise, also known as Black Warrior, is a mythical figure consisting of a turtle entwined by a serpent and is associated with the element water and the northern direction. The tortoise represents longevity and the serpent dexterity; their combination symbolizes harmony, benevolence, sincerity, virtue, and altruism. It is the embodiment of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu’s statement “like water, nourishing all but competing with none”; it is sincere, benevolent, and selfless. One of the highlights of this meticulously crafted piece is the strong sense of interaction between the tortoise and the snake as they ride the waves, with the tortoise looking back toward the snake. The overall effect is that of power tempered by harmony. Associated with the four quadrants of the vault of heaven is the Azure Dragon of the East, the Vermillion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, and the Black Tortoise of the North; in the center is the Qilin (unicorn).
