This painting is spectacular! I'm so happy with it. It's the perfect mix of grays and blues that I was looking for. I was very hesitant to buy artwork without actually seeing it, but I can say that the delivered product looks exactly as the image on the Perigold site. I also opted for having it delivered inside my house versus left on the step. The delivery people carefully handled the painting and were very professional. There wasn't a mark or ding on the box. Nicolette Mayer, the acclaimed product, wallpaper, and textile designer whose Wallpaper and Fabric collections are distributed through Scalamandre to the trade. Now Nicolette Mayer ventures into Bespoke Art, creating a new panel on Acrylic called Tree of Life, which can also work with SingleTree of Life, which together as a trio, becomes a Triptych. Nicolette Mayer’s Morrish grasscloth on metallic paper wallpaper titled Topkapi Garden was the inspiration for Cindy Rinfret’s entire design scheme of the Living Room and Entry, which is the first space that one enters when visiting the Kips Bay Decorator Show House.“Topkapi Palace, Iznik style pottery, and the beautiful Rugs in Palaces old and new inspired this design which presents a re-imagination of the ideal Ottoman aesthetic, with a new kind of chic that is entirely unique,” says Nicolette Mayer. Adds Cindy Rinfret, “This printed Morrish art inspired our color throughout the room and paired beautifully with the existing stone floors and arches. The space is so dramatic in scale, it needed a statement which was achieved with this gorgeous paper and the staggered Currey light fixtures.” Nicolette Mayer Wallcoverings were cut and applied next to the beams and dark blue ceiling, making for a custom, show-stopping experience upon entering the Show House. Unlike many Living Rooms, this space feels collected and lived in and just begs to be the site of a fabulous party. The historical reference in the design of the Topkapi Garden wall panels adds to the authentic, collected feeling of the overall design scheme. Nicolette Mayer, the designer, expertly incorporated lush blue colors that are fresh and modern, blended with themes that date back hundreds of years. Tree of Life is Art inspired by the Iznik tiled wall murals at the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. A tree, tall as minarets and underplanted with hyacinth bells, often immortalized on tiles in an alcove in the harem, once the most private-and forbidden part of the palace.

This piece is not described well on the Perigold website. First of all, there is no mention that it comes in two pieces, not one. Second, we are not told that it is transparent - which is fine if being hung on a white wall but not a colored or wallpapered wall. Ann was born in Enid, Oklahoma, and educated at the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Interior Design. She moved to San Diego in 1984, where she lives today with her husband and three children. While her artistic impression was constant throughout her life, her recent foray into the art world was developed over the past 15 years working as a volunteer art teacher for school children at the elementary level. During this time she also worked as the prop, costume, and backdrop designer for the elementary school’s performances and directed the art and talent shows for many years. Now coming full circle, Ann is once again involved in instructing new and aspiring artists on her painting methods. In her commitment to being a green artist, Ann is able to create unique paintings by using recycled materials, finding items of interest in her environment, and using every drop of paint to add dimension to her paintings.

I fell in love with this print. Unfortunately, when the print arrived, it was very different. Most of the piece is black and lacks all the contrasting colors. There are a few small areas that have a small amount of other colors, but very little. I have called Perigold and I am waiting to see what can be done. Austin Beiv grew up in the tough streets of Brooklyn. Where the expression of one’s self was usually done through wall tagging, or as they say in Italian "graffito". Austin was influenced by many different artists particularly Fernando Carlo. Fernando was well known for his expressive graffiti. The influence from Austin’s childhood is where the edge and contemporary look comes from in his art pieces. Austin graduated from Pratt Institute in the early ’90s. Austin now travels all over America to look for inspirations whether it’s a tagged wall or an art museum. Austin loves to embrace all the unique and expressive simplicities life offers.

Dennis Carney was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and spent his childhood surrounded by the colorful landscape of the desert. Fascinated with the beauty in the variety of nature, Carney’s desired to create. Later, his family moved to Texas, where he attended university and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Advertising Art. Carney credits his greatest influence on the natural world and the creative thinkers that surround him daily along with a diverse palette of artistic figures. He recognizes Frank Stella, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Carravaggio for their respective mediums. And he greatly admires the work of Peter Voulkos, with whom Carney studied, for his groundbreaking approach to ceramics. Carney’s delicate hand calls to mind a classic quality in life. The subtle nuances of timeless imagery, poised tone, and composed surface quality make for an overall impact of classical beauty with a distinctively modernized touch.

By creating art, I get to go explore the deepest side of me and examine my state of mind. Creating art always brought me to a state of pure joy. It is the place in which I can be myself.” Her favorite medium to use is a pencil, which she describes as “back to basics art.” She finds inspiration in daily strolls and travel. Jordan Thurston is a native of Garden City, NY where he began his lifelong love of the creative arts in after-school programs. Mostly self-taught, he continued drawing and painting throughout his formative years at New York University where he studied applied mathematics. Inspired by the complexity of the world in its simplest forms, he draws on the shapes and forms found in nature. Jordan currently lives in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY where he continues to paint and evolve as an artist.
