Austin Beiv grew up on the tough streets of Brooklyn, where the expression of oneself was usually done through wall tagging—or as they say in Italian, "graffito." He was influenced by many different artists, particularly Fernando Carlo, who was well known for his expressive graffiti. I ordered the Image Knife Giclee finish, which turned out to be very heavily textured and very glossy. It looks like plastic, which makes it pretty obvious that its a fake representation of an original. I was born in the foothills of California, in a small town called Tuolumne, fairly close to Yosemite National Park. I studied textile design and oil painting. I studied at a local community college back home and at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Art has a lot of meaning to me. It’s a way of communicating, expressing myself, and connecting myself to my thoughts and to others. I find inspiration mainly from nature and emotions.
