Legend of Asia builds this temple jar on a squared body with a high domed cover, a silhouette that reads more architectural than the usual rounded ginger jar. A special antique finish is the point here: soft distress, faint chips and uneven tone are applied on purpose so the porcelain jar looks like a piece pulled from a museum collection rather than a factory. Crowned by that cover, it is a genuine large jar, capable of anchoring a console, hearth or dining buffet without support from other objects. Every white jar is fully hand shaped and hand painted in Jingdezhen, so no two squares are identical. Use it as a lidded jar for storage or as a standalone sculpture, at ease in chinoiserie decor, layered asian decor and quiet neutral home decor.
These are pretty but the color is slightly whiter than the photos indicate.. Anonymous Designer. Mon Jul 08 2024
