Artist Commentary: This piece was a commissioned piece for a client in the Santa Barbara, CA area. In addition to photos my client supplied me with, I knew I had to walk this land to really understand it. I did and can tell you that it is truly spectacular! I painted the first layer in deep magentas, purples and violets and you can see those peeking through the final piece. I love the pops of chartreuse and gold as well as the cooler colors in this painting. I told my client that if they weren't happy with it I had another buyer who really wanted it (ME!) but they loved it and now it sits over their fireplace and looks perfect in their home

Artist Commentary: As I was biking and hiking around Nantucket recently, I loved seeing all these little slivers of the sea from different vantage points. On this particular day of hiking, we were on a trail that should have led us right down to the sea but we wondered off trail and never quite made it there. Instead, I caught this little slice of heaven and knew I had to paint it.
