The pattern Agate is inspired by the earth's rock formations. With a daughter who is an Earth scientist, I'm learning about geology... I've become focused on the Earth and what pressure and time have created within it. Agate is interesting in its organic swirling beauty. I placed my order for a roll of this wallpaper on May 18, 2023. The estimated delivery date was June 16, 2023. Because I genuinely loved the design of it, I was willing to pay $1,200 for a single roll of wallpaper and wait one month to get it. On June 14, I received an email saying "we know we can do better" but with no explanation as to what the problem was. After I contacted Perigold, I learned that the wallpaper was out of stock and was told the new estimated shipping date would be July 21. When it did not arrive, I contacted them again and was told the new date was July 28. Still no wallpaper. Then I was told July 31. I finally got the roll of wallpaper on August 3. A light and refined all-over motif, like a faux-unicolor, inspired by the original work “Tous les visages qu’il aime se ressemblent” from 1935. A pencil illustration for an edition of his novel, this line drawing of faces is ever present in Cocteau’s work, because according to him “pour exprimer son âme, on n’a que son visage” which translates to, “to express your soul, you only have your face.”

Shikoku features a beautifully soft, yet powerful motif of white caps and crashing waves from deep in the ocean. Offered in subtle and calming colorways.

A fresh and delicate, all-over motif that is very representative of Jean Cocteau’s work. He frequently evoked the need to attribute a human face to absolute power, particularly through the use of angelic representations, and figure D’ange exemplifies that need. Slight relief along the line of the angel component in the motif, contrasts with an elegant glittery light throughout the small background pattern, adding a little extra magic!

Sauvage, originally called Pheasant Sauvage et Raffine is an allover exotic bird pastoral pattern reminiscent of a Toile de Jouy with beautiful pheasants set amongst an ornate birdcage and woody foliage. Once the prized goal of hunting that included pheasant, venison and wild boar, pheasants were a prize of the hunt for both their feathers and refined taste.
