Elikónas - a large mountain looming over a cusp of the Korinthian Gulf. Our paper here is what you see when you sink into your car at midnight, and drive up the winding (never-ending, completely frightening, even more freeing) road. You stop - you look up. The glitz of hand-leafed gold in stellar cosmic ranges, gracing the deep dark (graphite) night of your wall.
Eliá - the energy of the earth, fired with a deep mineral hue - the sun explodes on the never-ending stream of ripening olive trees as you wind up the mountain and down the coast. Eliá is a hand-painted metal strié atop soft gray color, resulting in softness that shimmers and recedes, changing as you move.
To start this line off, we're debuting it atop our Eliá line. Over the deep copper mineral color of the sun, glimmering silver streaks arch and dive. That hour of the evening when the angle of the sun slants just so and abruptly a cloudburst of raindrops - where did they come from? Each one shot through with radiant light, anticipating a rainbow.
Óniero is the Greek word for dream, and our dreams hold our shadows in quiet - or loud as all hell - contemplation. The perfect afternoons we spent skipping down the olive groves, the dry dusty ground coming up and mixing with the dark heat behind us. We wouldn't talk for hours with our voices, only our hand and facial gestures - hey hey, this rock is the one. This is the rock of all rocks. Look look! Have you ever felt freer?
Ávra is that cool afternoon breeze that softly comes upon you and makes no waves. You're relaxing with your arms crossed behind your head. Feet crossed too (why not, after all?) - oh, I almost forgot. You're floating in a sea that is so salty that you catch your rays while staying buoyantly cool and then even cooler is that breeze that makes no waves just sweet, soft ripples in the sea that surrounds you. Ávra is a shimmer metal color patterned in unique vertical column formation.
Rounikós translates to runic in Greek. These colors remind us of the strong symbolic characters of the runes scattered across Greece, brought there by Nordic traders who had their glorious tales to tell!
A new collection inspired by the sounds of Greece. The gentle lapping of the waters, the clanking of the goat bells, the distant (or not at all distant) sound of the dancing shoes with the whoops and Opa's following that soulful Rembetika playing from the table two feet from those very dancing shoes. The harmony of sounds and the way they fit together as we skip along in this wonderful, rich life we have before us.
Immersion is the effervescent feeling of looking up while underwater. Life floats by and your thoughts join along with it. Immersion is hazy layers of color with big and small pockets of air.
Moonlight as it falls through the long branches of gray-green leaves in the ancient olive grove where you hide, awaiting your secret love at the appointed hour.
Aklí is a rare and sweet misting rain; one that falls on your calm skin and closed eyes... as you float in the salty sea. Aklí is a soft, atmospheric, painted texture that is akin to a freeze-frame of all the raindrops falling at once.
Xánthos is the ancient greek word for yellow. Sitting at your favorite cafe/bar/dance club (depending on what time it is maybe) at the seats, you always go for - right up back against that 14th-century wall. You sit and chat and laugh and think, all while the sun is coming down over that incredible sea horizon, and just as you take notice again of the ancient dust falling ever so slightly around you. The sun streaks the low sky, bursting that yellow that is just so bright and so warm, and then, unlike this wall, you lean on, it’s gone in a split second.
Topío means landscape in Greek. This wallpaper line comes directly to you from Stephanie's Greek mountain visions; they are concurrent with the second and third dimensions. Topío is layers of iridescent and matte color etched across one another, resulting in a wild depth of texture.
