Zoffany Geometric Wallpaper

This Essex & Co. sunburst wallpaper design from our archives dates to the early 1900s and was probably used as ceiling paper. It has been given a contemporary twist for the 21st century with the use of metallic inks, crackle glaze effects, and foil grounds and is printed in modern colorways.

The epitome of Art Deco design, this glorious rotary-printed geometric wide-width wallpaper is a faithful interpretation of a 1930s archive document. The interplay between the matt and metallic inks replicates the decadence of the era and is named after Gordon Conway, a fashion artist, and Vanity Fair illustrator, who captured the mood of the jazz age in his drawings.

Discovered at Temple Newsam between 1750-1770 the Diamonds & Flowers design was found on the top floor of the West Wing in the Tudor-Jacobean home. Featuring a small lattice pattern composed of four blocks of eight bars with a sprig of flowers at the center encircled by a toothed border Diamonds & Flowers is a design synonymous with Zoffany. It has been surface printed to capture the essence of the original printed document. This beautifully intricate design continues to endure in its timeless simplicity.

Floral Tracery is a beautifully delicate design featuring stylized flowers arranged in a lattice pattern set against a backdrop of subtle dots. Discovered during a restoration project Floral Tracery was salvaged from layers of historic wallpapers and thoughtfully revived by Zoffany. Its rotary-printed design offers a sense of depth and texture complemented by a matt finish that pairs perfectly with Zoffany chalky paints.

Set along a regency stripe Semper is overlaid with intricate almond-shaped motifs that evoke a sense of the infinite in its design. Semper is a smart but delicate wallpaper suitable for a number of rooms in the home.
