After spending long periods studying different techniques, D’Alessandro Léon's art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During his studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro Léon was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces.

Music is a big part of his life and it sparked his creativity even before he began painting. In fact, Van did not begin painting until he was in college and he is self-taught. “Art was something that was always in my genes. It makes me happy. I believe that every artist leaves a piece of themselves in their artwork. In turn, it makes me happy when people get to own part of those pieces to share with the world.” Van prefers working in liquid acrylics and watercolors because of their fluidity. “I like how the colors flow. I like to observe how the different shapes and mixtures come alive.” Van finds animals, humans, and nature are his favorite subjects to paint. He is inspired by nature, people, and music. When not painting, Van runs marathons, travels and plays the guitar.

Artist Austin Bev grew up in the tough streets of Brooklyn, where self-expression was usually found through wall tagging—or as they say in Italian, "graffito." Influenced by various artists, particularly Fernando Carlo (famed for his expressive graffiti), Bev’s childhood provides the edge and contemporary look found in his current work. A graduate of the Pratt Institute in the early 1990s, he now travels throughout America seeking inspiration, whether from a tagged wall or a fine art museum. He continues to embrace all the unique and expressive simplicities life offers.
