D’Alessandro Léon was the youngest of three brothers. When art competitions were a form of play for the brothers, it later grew to his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended illustration, Sculpting, and Fine Art workshops. After spending long periods of time studying different techniques, D’Alessandro’s art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces.

Alexys Henry grew up in both Phoenix and New York, influenced by dramatic shifts in both cultural and physical environments. As a child, the long clear expanses of snow-covered fields broken by patches of overgrown trees and half-frozen streams captivated her and continue to influence her imagery. Henry moved to Berkeley, California in 2002. “There I found myself drawn to everyday details such as cracks in walls and layers of peeling paint and poster paper. Nature flourishes alongside urban decay. For me, this is the backdrop of a duplicitous sense of danger as well as hope and community”. From there, Henry’s brief time in Seattle deeply influenced her seascapes.
