Although born and raised in Los Angeles, artist Van Garret has been heavily influenced by traveling abroad to a multitude of countries, especially Iceland. Music is a big part of his life and it sparked his creativity even before he began painting. Alexander Nikanpour is a contemporary visual artist living in Northern California. After graduating with a Master of Fine Arts in communications design from the HDK University in Gothenburg, Sweden, he went on to study environmental design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. D’Alessandro Léon attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended illustration, sculpting, and fine art workshops. After spending long periods studying different techniques, D’Alessandro Léon's art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During his studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. Ann was born in Enid, Oklahoma, and educated at the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Interior Design. She moved to San Diego in 1984, where she lives today with her husband and three children. While her artistic impression was constant throughout her life, her recent foray into the art world was developed over the past 15 years working as a volunteer art teacher for school children at the elementary level. During this time she also worked as the prop, costume, and backdrop designer for the elementary school’s performances and directed the art and talent shows for many years. Now coming full circle, Ann is once again involved in instructing new and aspiring artists on her painting methods. In her commitment to being a green artist, Ann is able to create unique paintings by using recycled materials, finding items of interest in her environment, and using every drop of paint to add dimension to her paintings.
