Artist Commentary: This painting is from a photo reference I took while on an RV road trip through Wisconsin. I've painted this image several times in values of purple and green, which was the vision I saw when I took this photo. I decided to paint the same strand of trees in a Spring setting. I started with 4 values of orange in my underpainting and built up the values using warm colors. I love the way this painting glows. If you look closely you will see all the values peeking through.
