Artist Mark Sargent was born in Buffalo, NY, and grew up in Egypt, where he later studied modern art and art history at the University of Fine Arts in Cairo. Coming from a rich artistic lineage, his grandfather was part of the pioneering generation that founded modern Egyptian art, and Mark fondly remembers growing up and admiring his paintings. His own skill set developed by studying old master paintings in museums around the world. Today, Mark finds inspiration in nature and the world around him, capturing everyday events and details that most people would miss, predominantly using the rich medium of oil for his art.
