Artist Jean Kenna was born in Seoul, Korea. She studied illustration at the Art Center College of Design, where she developed her fundamental drawing and painting skills and gained a basic knowledge of technical programs. For Jean, art means many things; she believes art is her language and a privilege given to her for expression. It is also the way she communicates with the world in her own unique and personal way.
Jean finds inspiration in small things that spark excitement—for example, movies, a lazy day on the beach, or the silence of a rainy day. Although she mostly works in digital media, Jean loves to draw with a pen and markers. She especially enjoys capturing cityscapes that involve perspective and the stories of city life. During the weekends, Jean often goes out into the city to study the people and buildings around her, bringing them to life in her sketchbook. Jean believes the purpose of an artist’s work is to bring excitement and happiness to people’s minds. “I love to create art that makes your heart warm.
