• The reductive prints give the illusion of texture while maintaining the integrity of the original work of art. In other words - they are the flat version of an original. The key to our reductive print starts with the scan. The scanner captures all of the detail from the original. Every mark, brushstroke, fine line, smudge and incidental as well as the peaks and valleys of the piece are captured and reproduced to simulate the depth of the original when printed.
• Era: 1779 - 1853.
• Via Rijks: Wellington had the horse he had ridden at Waterloo taken from his estate to London. This gave Pieneman the opportunity to paint Copenhagen from life. The painter did not feel completely comfortable with this model. He later recalled that he felt stared at by the horse, much to Wellington's amusement. Artwork is wrapped around its stretcher bar and finished with antiqued tacks to match the style of finishing often seen on historical works of art.
• Each piece is stretched and tacked by hand. All artwork is printed, framed and finished in California.
