• The reductive prints give the illusion of texture while maintaining the integrity of the original work of art. In other words - they are the flat version of an original. The key to our reductive print starts with the scan. The scanner captures all of the detail from the original. Every mark, brushstroke, fine line, smudge and incidental as well as the peaks and valleys of the piece are captured and reproduced to simulate the depth of the original when printed.

• Via Rijks: 'A nos amis de Hollande' (to our friends in the Netherlands), Bernard wrote top left. He meant the family of Andries Bonger, to whom he gave this self-portrait. Bernard was part of the Nabis, the group around Paul Gauguin, and was friends with Vincent van Gogh and Jan Verkade. For his self-portrait he used syntheticism or cloissonism as a style: clearly defined, simple shapes and few colours. French Post-Impressionist painter.
