• The reductive prints give the illusion of texture while maintaining the integrity of the original work of art. In other words - they are the flat version of an original. The key to our reductive print starts with the scan. The scanner captures all of the detail from the original. Every mark, brushstroke, fine line, smudge and incidental as well as the peaks and valleys of the piece are captured and reproduced to simulate the depth of the original when printed.
• Era: 1851 - 1918. From Rijks: Lizzy Ansingh and Therese Schwartze belonged to the Amsterdamse Joffers, a group of women painters active around 1900. Schwartze was the undisputed star and enjoyed great success with her fashionable society portraits. This informal likeness of her niece Lizzy Ansingh is one of her best. The contrast between light and dark convey intimacy, and the swift, vigorous brushstrokes and red accent on the bright green dress radiate power.
• Artwork is wrapped around its stretcher bar and finished with antiqued tacks to match the style of finishing often seen on historical works of art.
• Each piece is framed by hand.
